font-size: 18pt;\">I had this microwave roll recipe to make a quick-fix dinner roll,<br \/>\nbut<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\"> for Hamotzi, Sabbath Challah, but there are other requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">The flour needed to be one of the 5 biblical <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">grains, and<br \/>\nso could only be oat flour to be gluten free.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">I altered my dinner roll recipe to this &#8220;Hamotzi&#8221; recipe.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">QUICK, SIMPLE INGREDIENTS:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">(to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">yield 8 BIG challah rolls using a mold)<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Whisk these dry ingredients together:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">2-1\/4 cups oat flour (or any GF or all purpose) <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"If you cannot find Oat Flour,&lt;br \/&gt;\nsimply grind regular or instant oats into powder in&lt;br \/&gt;\na food processor or coffee grinder\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>or Make Your Own<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">1 cup arrowroot, tapioca, potato starch or GF blend<br \/>\n1\u00be tsp xanthan gum (omit if using a blend that contains stabilizers).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">\u00bd tsp salt<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">1\u00bd tsp yeast or baking powder<br \/>\n*If for Shabbat and Hamotzi using 1\u00bd tsp yeast, (cover,<br \/>\nlet rise 30 &#8211; 45 minutes in a warm place).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Mix &amp; Add these warm liquids<br \/>\n(room-temperature)\u00a0 to the dry:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">6 tbs. unsweetened applesauce<br \/>\n4\u00bd tbs. raw sugar maple syrup, honey, or date honey<br \/>\n4 eggs <em>(best if separated, beaten separately)<\/em><br \/>\n2 tbs. coconut oil (or olive, or avocado)<br \/>\n1 cup non-dairy milk <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"water is required&lt;br \/&gt;\nfor &lt;\/span&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;&quot;&gt;Shabbat Challah for hamotzi\"> (or water for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shabbat Challah)<\/span><\/span> Add gradually to the dry ingredients<br \/>\nuntil the batter can pour slowly off the edge of a mixing<br \/>\nspoon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Batter should be quite thick, but if it is too thick<br \/>\nto pour off a large serving spoon, add warm<br \/>\nwater 1 tbs. at a time<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Fold in Optional add-ins:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">1 tsp cinnamon,<br \/>\n1 tsp extract vanilla, almond, orange<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">2 to 4\u00a0 Tbs. frozen blueberries, dates or any<br \/>\ndried fruit chopped, or chocolate chips.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><br \/>\nMicrowave (max. 4 rolls at a time) Two-Minutes!<br \/>\n<\/strong>When done they pull away from the mold slightly<br \/>\nand a toothpick inserted comes out clean.<br \/>\nMicrowaves vary, so you may need to add<br \/>\n10 or 20 seconds at a time and check again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">(<em>Or bake in the oven for <\/em><em>about 20 minutes ).<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">If yeast is used, let it rise in the challah mold, (covered<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">with wrap or parchment), in a warm place for 25 to 35<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">minutes, until puffy looking, but not doubled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">To create a warm place, pre-heat your oven for only 1<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">minute at 350-F with the light on. Then shut it.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">I baked it in a 350-F oven, not preheated, for 25 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">When done the batter looks pulled away from the mold<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">and an inserted toothpick comes out clean.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\">*********************************<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">If you aren&#8217;t in a hurry, always make these with<br \/>\ninstant yeast. <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">I love the aroma and light texture<br \/>\nit creates.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; For dinner<br \/>\nwith your favorite seasonings and a tbsp. less sugar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Because all items in microwaves absorb power, I cut<br \/>\noff one silicone mold from a sheet of 6.<br \/>\nI placed the greased and filled mold, batter-side-up, on a<br \/>\nmicrowave-safe plate.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Baking took 1 minute on full power in my microwave.<br \/>\nAnd here&#8217;s how they turned out using baking powder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
