Create a well in the<br \/>\ncenter of <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">the dry ingredients and add the milk, egg, and oil, and<br \/>\nmix vigorously. The <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">bread dough\/batter should come together<br \/>\nand lighten a bit in color as you mix. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Transfer the dough-batter to the prepared baking bowl, skillet, or<br \/>\npan, and <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">smooth the top with wet hands or spatula (do not compress).<br \/>\nCover the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">dough completely with an oiled piece of plastic wrap.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Place it in a warm, moist place to rise for about 30 minutes, or until<br \/>\nthe dough <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">has increased to about 1 and a half of its original size. In cool,<br \/>\ndry weather, the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">dough may take longer to rise. Return the bread to the oven and bake <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">until it has darkened<br \/>\nslightly all around, and sounds hollow when thumped on, <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">about another<br \/>\n15 minutes.<br \/>\nThe internal temperature of the bread should reach <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">about 195\u00b0F on an<br \/>\ninstant-read thermometer.
